Big Foot Systems unveils the new High Bloc

Share

Sussex-based Big Foot Systems is delighted to announce the introduction of the new High Bloc which provides an innovative support solution for mounting air conditioning (AC) units on flat roofs. A simple but highly effective solution for increasing the height of VRF/AC installations the High Bloc safely spreads the plant load evenly across the roof.

Ensuring cost-effective roof-clearance for AC equipment in line with manufacturers’ instructions, the High Bloc helps to ensure cooling systems work effectively. Designed to raise the Big Foot Fix It Foot, the world’s best-selling rooftop services support product, the High Bloc helps keep AC units clear of debris, precipitation and ice on flat roofs. Moulded from recycled rubber, the High Bloc is UV stable, robust and features anti-vibration built in.

Available in two sizes, the High Bloc 600 (L 600mm x W 180mm x H 120mm) and the High Bloc 1000 (L 1000mm x W 180mm x 120mm), the product is lightweight at 9.5kg and 15.8kg respectively. The design load for the High Bloc 600 is 224kg and for the High Bloc 1000 it is 295kg.

Extending the boundaries of existing air conditioning technology by making installation more flexible and easier, which will save contractors time on site, the High Bloc is ideal for roofs that are susceptible to pond during high levels of rainfall. With the recent high precipitation in the UK, water on flat roofs has been an issue, however, the High Bloc overcomes this issue by raising AC units above flooded rooftops.

In addition, the High Bloc keeps AC out of the way of debris while helping to protect modern lightweight roofs from damage. Traditionally concrete slabs have been used to mount AC systems but they can tear the fabric of the roof. As a non-penetrative support the High Bloc does not put the roof at risk from water ingress or thermal bridging.

Maintenance is also easier with the innovative High Bloc since the supports raise the AC units above the flat roof making them more accessible and creating space to run pipes. By elevating the condensing units and services it is easier to maintain the air conditioning. As such, it saves the customer money as maintained systems will operate more efficiently. In addition, staff will be able to service and maintain the air conditioning equipment more quickly. Regular maintenance helps customers ensure their air conditioning plant is leak tight which is mandatory under F Gas legislation
