CaberShieldPlus, flooring that keeps you building for up to 60 days, even with the roof off.

Share

CaberShieldPlus is the ideal flooring solution when building in Britain’s unpredictable climate.

Based on Norbord’s popular moisture-resistant CaberFloor P5 tongue-and-groove particleboard flooring panel, CaberShieldPlus is specially designed to withstand exposure to wet conditions.

CaberShieldPlus has protection on both sides, not just the exposed upper surface. The top surface features a permanent non-slip coating that not only prevents damage to the board but also ensures a safe working platform for all employees. The underside is covered with a smooth coating that not only protects against damage but also makes the board easy to slide into position and prevents moisture ingress.

For added durability and to speed up the build process, the coating applied to CaberShieldPlus is not designed to be peeled off after completion but is bonded permanently on both sides of the panel and is waterproof, thus providing a further saving in time and cost to the builder with clean-up kept to a minimum.  This also allows other trades to access the site quicker and makes for a more seamless building process.

With CaberShieldPlus, fast-track build programmes won’t be derailed by rain, sleet or snow, helping the builder to bring developments in on-cost and on-time. CaberShieldPlus is BBA-approved for up to 60 days’ continuous exposure to the elements when used with CaberFix D4 adhesive.

The easy-to-handle 2,400mm x 600mm tongue-and-grooved panels are available in 18mm and 22mm thicknesses and are colour-coded to make it easy to identify the top surface.

Ideal for domestic new-build and refurbishment projects, as well as many commercial applications, CaberShieldPlus is delivered in packs of 80 (18mm) or 66 (22mm).

Using CaberShieldPlus not only speeds up the build process, but results in a superior quality home.  A structurally sound board of load-bearing standard, the homeowner will be spared the risk of falling through the floor when the boards are fitted correctly with the use of Norbord’s D4 adhesive.  Following fixing instructions and using the D4 adhesive also lessens occurances of being called back to site.

All of Norbord’s production sites in Europe are able to produce wood-based materials that are certified according to the guidelines of the FSC or PEFC.
