Camp Katur is a Glamping experience with a difference, set within the beautiful 250 acre Camp Hill Estate of North Yorkshire, Camp Katur offers a truly memorable Yorkshire Glamping holiday.
Our Glamping Village has many unique types of accommodation. We have 17 abodes in total including Safari Tents, Bell Tents, a Tipi, Unidomes, Hobbit Pods, Geodomes, Betty our 1980’s Retro Caravan, Hobbit Hideaway and new for this year Bears Place Eco Lodge. Each accommodation comes with individual furnishings and accessories making them truly unique. All our accommodations have their own outside seating, bbqs and fire pits to enable quality family time together. We are pooch friendly allowing your fury friends to come along on holiday as well.
Bears Places is our latest addition to the Camp Katur family. This new characterful higgledy piggledy lodge has been constructed using 70% upcycled, restorative and sustainable materials , which with a little time and hard work and lots of creative thinking helps to restore old waste of old objects, is green friendly and creates another special unique offering for our guests to create beautiful memories. The real magic comes from the restored horse box, found alone rotting in a field. It is now the centre piece of the lodge, with a graffiti wall in the bathroom and it is used to create a cool and unique bedroom for the younger ones to enjoy.
Fairly new on the Glamping scene Unidomes are a unique and exciting hand-made modular space that provides a practical and aesthetically pleasing space for 21st century living. Hidden in the woods we have a truly unique Dome (which we are the first to have) it is a 360 degree clear panoramic Dome with stunning woodland views all around, it is the ultimate relaxation space enabling you to stargaze under the duvet and wake up in the wilderness.
We have two luxury Geodomes on Camp which sleep up to four guests in each. Our Geodomes have the added luxury of their own kitchenette shed and toilet and shower shed just outside the dome. The Geodomes are a third clear at the front allowing in the stunning meadow views which surround them.
The glamping village has its own Nordic BBQ Cabin known as ‘The Podfather’ available for guests to hire which is perfect for indoor Barbequing and provides a special way to dine with family and friends. Originating from Lapland called ‘Grillikota’ in Finnish, Nordic BBQ cabins are the perfect indoor Barbequing solution for our lovely British weather.
Why not treat yourself to some “me” time at our very own outdoor Eco spa, this is truly an experience not to miss and will have you well on your way to discovering your outdoor happiness. Set on the edge of a tranquil woodland our outdoor Eco Spa enables you to sink into total relaxation with a wood burning hot tub it is the perfect place to unwind, whilst listening to the sounds of local wildlife during sundown. Help soothe away aches and pains from your day’s activities in the wood burning barrelled sauna, don’t forget to take a cold shower beforehand to feel the full benefits of heat sizzling through your muscles. Our Eco wood fired hot tub is made from Siberian spruce and hand crafted to comfortably accommodate 5-6 people.
The glamping site is ‘off grid’ so we have no electricity, we get all our energy sources from gas, solar power and candle light, we try to be as Eco Friendly as possible. Many of our guests here love the fact the can escape the digital world and rekindle and reconnect with their friends and families.
The Camp Hill Estate is an activities estate so there is plenty to do whilst you are here, whether you enjoy Segways, Quad Bike treks, Football Golf and the estate is home to Camp Hill’s Tree Top Adventure and Swing Park. Children can enjoy the new Woodland Kingdom Adventure Park which is home to a mini low ropes course, dens, playhouses and a bbq and picnic area.
