One of the UK’s leading furniture manufacturers, JT Ellis, Huddersfield has chosen Franke Sissons, (also known as Franke Washroom Systems), to work in partnership to supply 12 bespoke kitchens for Sir John Cass Hall, a newly refurbished purpose-built, two-storey student accommodation.

Sir John Cass Hall, located in Well Street Hackney, London is part of Cass and Claredale Halls of Residence Association Limited, a not-for-profit organisation providing comfortable and secure accommodation for students studying in London. This summer’s refurbishment comprises 132 bedrooms with large shared communal areas. The 12 kitchens are shared throughout the building along with single sex showers and WCs.

David Kung, designer for Ellis Furniture explains “Designing and crafting multi-user kitchens to be both stylish and extremely robust is challenging. I know our furniture will be hardwearing but when it comes to worktops and sinks – which take the majority of the impact in a multi-user kitchen we need a material that will truly stand up to the job. Using high grade, made to measure stainless steel products from Franke Sissons has proven a compelling solution. Not only will its look and feel actually improve with use and age it’s virtually indestructible also.”

Franke Washroom Systems’ kitchen worktops are templated, manufactured and welded to suit any commercial kitchen design. Victoria Himsworth, Product Marketing Manager explains “Working with Ellis Furniture is always exciting. These bespoke worktops and sink units were installed on site in just two days.”

Franke Washroom Systems manufacture a portfolio of high quality kitchen, catering and washroom products in stainless steel and its own solid surface Miranit. All products carry CE marking and or WRAS approvals as required.
