A London academy has put its faith in Tarkett after the company expanded its range of vibrant sports flooring colours.

Tarkett has extended its Omnisports collection by adding 13 new bright and engaging colours to put functional aesthetics back at the heart of sports centre design.

One place already benefiting from the expanded colour range is St Michael’s and All Angels Academy in Camberwell, London. The academy is a new building that includes a sports hall and gymnasium – fitted with 700sqm of Omnisports Reference in Sky Blue.

Omnisports Reference was selected due to its added 6.5mm transparent vinyl wear layer – ideal for a busy school environment where the floor will experience heavy footfall every day.

The flooring contractor behind installation of the product was Avonline. Contracts manager, Ian Williams, said: “We had used Tarkett Flooring before and were very happy with the product. It has a quality finish and appearance that always pleases the customer and for us it’s easy to install. We didn’t hesitate to use it again and the job went well. I would certainly recommend it to others.”

Omnisports is available in five thicknesses, starting with Omnisports Compact with a 2mm wear layer, through to Omnisports Excel with a dense 8.3mm wear layer. This gives designers and architects the opportunity to choose a floor ideal for customer needs.

Steve Urwin, Tarkett UK marketing manager, said: “Our Omnisports range now offers a huge choice of up to 32 main colours with the 13 new colours available exclusively in Omnisports Reference & Omnisports Excel. Not only does it look fantastic but it’s highly resistant to scratches and indentation and the acoustic foam backing reduces sound. It’s a product we’re proud of and, like all Tarkett products, we’ve tried to make it as environmentally sustainable as possible.”

Manufactured in France, all Omnisports flooring is 100% recyclable and is made from a minimum 19% recycled content.

The surface has also been treated with Tarkett’s Top Clean XP. This ensures easy maintenance and reduces water consumption and the use of cleaning agents.
