TrustMark and Resi:  Working together to connect consumers with quality contractors.

Share

Resi, the UK’s leading architectural practice, has joined forces with TrustMark in a unique collaboration.  TrustMark is the only Government Endorsed Quality Scheme for work carried out in or around the home, covering all trade types from electricians to landscape gardeners.

Resi allows homeowners looking to extend their properties to manage every stage of a project online.  The Resi team support the homeowners on every step of this journey from preparing drawings to securing planning permission – including the shortlisting and selection of building contractors.

As part of this collaboration, Resi has announced that it will only advocate TrustMark Registered Businesses to their customers, giving them greater confidence that the work will be carried out by reputable tradespeople.

This confidence comes from the knowledge that each TrustMark Registered Business has been vetted by their Scheme Provider (the leading expert in each sector) to verify that their technical competence, customer services and trading practices are in line with Government Endorsed Quality standards.

Consumers using TrustMark Registered Businesses recommended by Resi can also rest assured that additional measures are in place to protect them against financial malpractice or the firm going out of business.  In the unlikely event that something does go wrong, customers still have the TrustMark disputes resolution process to fall back on.

Resi typically manages between  100 and 200 building extension projects each month and CEO, Alex Depledge is delighted to know each building contractor they recommend from now on will also offer these assurances to Resi’s customers.   Alex also recognises that the shadow of the cowboy builder looms large over the industry, and schemes such as TrustMark allow quality businesses to mark themselves out as such, and subsequently thrive.

“Finding a reliable builder is a huge issue for homeowners, but equally, the lack of accreditation and regulation within the industry is an issue for builders themselves.  Here at Resi, we want both sides to feel secure about the process, so our new collaboration with TrustMark is a huge step forward.”

Builders that want to work with Resi to provide services to the growing number of customers using this platform will need to ensure that they are part of the TrustMark scheme.

Businesses can sign-up through a Scheme Provider, such as the Federation of Master Builders, to be considered for work on Resi projects and take advantage of many other benefits.

TrustMark CEO, Simon Ayers, commented on the new partnership “TrustMark is doing everything it can to assist the many quality firms providing services to consumers in this sector.  By working with Resi in this way, we feel we are fulfilling our brief of simultaneously protecting the consumer while championing businesses that deserve to succeed.”

Other benefits to becoming TrustMark Registered include free access to the new Business Portals allowing businesses and consumers to exchange quote requests, documents, and photographs relating to projects through the TrustMark website; integration of Trading Standards; and listing on the TrustMark Online Directory.
