Abloy to showcase compliant security solutions at IFSEC

Share

ASSA ABLOY, the largest global supplier of intelligent lock and security solutions, responsible for one in every 10 lock and security installations worldwide, is focusing on innovation on Stand D1700 in Hall S17 at IFSEC 2014 (Excel, London, UK from 17-19 June, 2014.)

Recently named by Forbes as one of the world’s 100 most innovative companies, ASSA ABLOY will showcase new products and solutions for a wide range of end user markets, bringing competitive advantage to OEM and system integrator partners, and improving customers’ lives through greater security, safety and convenience.

Security expert Abloy UK is showcasing a number of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electric locking solutions at IFSEC 2014, as well as offering advice to security professionals on compliance and key control.

Figures released in recent years by the Fire and Rescue Services show that 46 per cent of public buildings, 42 per cent of care homes, 42 per cent of schools and 37 per cent of hospitals were deemed ‘unsatisfactory’ when inspected for the correct means to escape in case of a fire.

As many specifiers and installers are still not sure what a compliant solution consists of, a team of Abloy experts will be on hand at IFSEC 2014 to discuss this topic and answer any queries.

Abloy UK offers compliant electric lock solutions that meet building regulation standards, more specifically those linked to EN179 Emergency Escape (for when the building occupants are aware of the building environment) and EN1125 Panic Escape (for environments used by the general public).

These standards state that even if a door is electronically controlled for access there must be a compliant mechanical means of escape in an emergency, and the solutions offered by Abloy UK are highly secure and efficient.

One of the systems Abloy will be promoting at IFSEC 2014 is web-based security management solution, CLIQ Remote, that allows for the remote management of disparate or large electronic master-keyed sites at any time, from anywhere in the world.

CLIQ also provides comprehensive audit trails on cylinders and padlocks and the ability to remove lost or stolen keys from the system, thereby providing tight key management at all times.

Visitors to IFSEC 2014 can get an interactive demonstration of how the CLIQ Remote and electric locking systems work on stand D1700, with Abloy UK representatives on hand to answer any questions.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Abloy in the UK too, with the company celebrating numerous milestones including the appointment of the Regional Sales team, the introduction of the Dealer Network, and the unveiling of the Abloy Academy.

Jon Burke, Marketing Manager for Abloy UK, said: “IFSEC is the world’s leading annual security event, making it the ideal location to discuss compliant solutions and key control. We look forward to dispelling some of the myths regarding compliance and helping visitors understand how it’s best to achieve it in all applications.”
