CGI International, the market-leading fire glass solutions specialist and independent manufacturer of Pyroguard fire glazing products, has expanded its UK technical sales team with the appointment of Paul Wakeling as Project & Specification Manager.
After 17 years in the safety and security industry, Paul has made the transition into the closely related fire glazing sector, where he will work with the UK sales and technical teams to develop the company’s range of specification support tools and provide design guidance direct to specifiers. Field-based, Paul will be responsible for architect and project support nationwide, including the delivery of the Pyroguard and fire glass solutions CPD seminar programme.
Commenting on his new role, Paul said: “The experience gained in safety and security has given me an excellent grounding for working with architects in this specialist area of fire safety glazing. Having previously helped specifiers navigate the technical complexities of product specification, I’m looking forward to bringing this experience to my new role with CGI International.”
Having joined CGI International at the beginning of 2012, Paul has already made in-roads on a number of high profile projects by supporting architects in the correct specification of Pyroguard products for doors, screens and partitions.
A key tool in Paul’s support portfolio is the online Applications and Tests Selector, which equips specifiers with a real-time resource to identify which Pyroguard products are certified for use in specific applications. This includes the market-leading Pyroguard EW range, which offers integrity with radiation control – providing much greater fire protection than lower end E-rated integrity only glass products.
Paul joins CGI International from Gunnebo UK Ltd, where his successful career spanned roles in sales and technical support, including key account management and service & installation manager.
David Jolliffe, Managing Director, CGI International, concludes: “Investment in our technical team and research and development will continue to be a priority for CGI International in 2012. Our Pyroguard range of fire glass solutions is being increasingly specified for major commercial and public sector projects, which is why we are ensuring that the highest levels of technical support are available to specifiers – exactly when they need it.”
