Danfoss Launches Innovative New Heat Pump

As part of its commitment to providing highly efficient, sustainable energy solutions, Danfoss has released a new high capacity ground source heat pump designed for the large domestic property or a simple heating and hot water light commercial application.
The latest addition to the DHP-S range, DHP-S Eco has many innovative features to make it work even more efficiently. The heat pump’s peak performance is the result of a newly developed refrigeration circuit, coupled with a new compressor, new refrigerant and the latest generation heat exchanger.
Other factors contributing to its high performance are an in-built hot gas exchanger and a new electronic expansion valve.
Lars Finne, design manager in R&D at Danfoss said: “The new type of refrigerant and a dedicated scroll compressor has boosted performance to a level that exceeds our expectations. Tests carried out at Danfoss’ test centre in Arvika, Sweden, shows that it outperforms its predecessor by up to 24 per cent on overall efficiency. “
At the same time, we have significantly reduced sound levels by about 5db (A),’ he added.
For anyone looking for a more cost effective form of energy for their home or light commercial project, the DHP-S Eco is an attractive proposition, when considering comfort and energy savings.
Chris Dale, Director of Danfoss, said: “This is a very exciting addition to our range, which opens up huge opportunities for larger domestic and light commercial projects. With the planned introduction in 2014 of the Renewable Heat Incentive, plus the constantly rising energy costs, the DHP-S Eco is just right for the market and we are expecting a high level of interest.”
DHP-S Eco offers outstanding performance and capacity, combined with optional internet monitoring and a streamlined control system that simplifies operation and keeps costs down.
The innovative heat pump system has ‘set and forget’ controls, which ensures hassle-free operation for building owners and managers.
Danfoss designs and manufactures a wide range of ground, water and air source heat pumps, which are used for everything from small domestic to large commercial and public sector installations. The company has a network of approved installers who are fully trained to provide design, installation, commissioning and maintenance for its comprehensive range of heat pumps.
