Share

Firestone Building Products are delighted to report that the eighth issue of BBA Agrément Certificate 89/2216 has been awarded for its RubberGard EPDM single ply roofing systems.

In addition to the fully updated technical standards featured in the new certificate, a study of long-term roof installations in the UK was completed during 2013. The single ply membrane used as a waterproofing membrane as part of a flat roof system was assessed in a variety of key areas such as weathertightness and durability. Following the successful results obtained in the study, the BBA state that, with regard to durability, “Accelerated weathering tests and performance in use confirm that satisfactory retention of physical properties is achieved. All available evidence indicates that the systems should have a life in excess of 30 years.”

Included in the certificate are updated results from the new UK fire testing classifications. The RubberGard EPDM systems described in the certificate all achieve a classification of BROOF(t4) in accordance with BS EN 13501-5 : 2005.

The certificate also includes information on the membranes resistance to foot traffic, resistance to wind uplift and details on repairs, should this be required as a result of damage up to and after the expected 30 year service life.

The latest issue of the RubberGard BBA certificate is further proof that when it comes to roofing “Nobody Covers You Better” than Firestone.
