FLOORMATE™ 500-A and XENERGYTM MK specified for Westfield London shopping centre expansion

An extension to Westfield London, the largest covered shopping development in the capital, will use Dow Building Solution’s FLOORMATE™ 500-A in the provision of new car parking facilities. The £1bn extension will add a further 740,000 sq ft of retail space in addition to leisure and community facilities, and much needed housing for the local area.
Dow has provided technical support to Zoontjens, a leading provider of rooftop parking systems, and 9000sqm of FLOORMATE™ 500-A and XENERGY™ MK is being supplied by Radmat. Zoontjens and Dow have partnered on several similar projects, including at Westfield Stratford City, near the London 2012 Olympic Park.
FLOORMATE™ insulation products from Dow are suited for high load bearing applications and is used in projects ranging from parking decks to cold stores, aircraft hangars to residential projects. The versatility of the product can be attributed to its mechanical strength, high design load as well as resistance to moisture and repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
FLOORMATE™ products come with a range of compressive strengths to match a project’s loading requirements and are blown with CO2 for foam with a Global Warming Potential of less than five. The boards offer low thermal conductivity to help meet energy efficiency demands, easy and fast installation as well as a durable floor structure long-term.
