Designed by Glasgow firm MAST architects and built by Cruden Building and Renewables, the development features NorDan’s timber windows.

MAST Architects say: ”NorDan’s Scandinavian timber windows assisted as part of an enhanced building fabric to achieve energy efficient, sustainable family homes and flats for affordable and private rent, at this new development in Broomhill, Partick.  The project was designed for Partick Housing Association and was recently completed by Cruden Building and Renewals.”

The project consists of 47 units including construction of fourteen townhouses, eighteen common close flats and a care home for people with severe and enduring mental health issues. The latter was built as a supported accommodation block with 14 bedsits and 1 staff sleepover room.

NorDan is one of the biggest Scandinavian producers of high quality, high performance timber windows and doors. The firm celebrated 90 years in business in 2016 at its group headquarters in Moi, Norway. MAST architects are based in Glasgow. The firm specialises in designing housing for families, the elderly and people with disabilities for registered social landlords and developers.

NorDan was founded in 1926 by Johannes Rasmussen, and is today run by the third generation of the Rasmussen  family.

NorDan prides itself in using carefully sourced, certified sustainable raw material. Timber from some of the slowest growing forests in northern Europe enables the firm to produce very high quality frames which create energy efficient products for the construction industry.

NorDan is constantly innovating and developing its products to meet higher and higher energy efficient requirements and sustainability. Scandinavian timber windows are admired by architects and their clients, with credentials and certification that satisfy Passivhaus and beyond.
