Raychem single pipe DHWS HWAT solution specified for 25 Churchill Place

Pentair Thermal Management has provided its Raychem HWAT solution to Jointing Technologies for the DHWS system at 25 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf – the 23 story office tower Canary Wharf Contractors Limited has constructed for the EMA (European Medicines Agency’s) 25 Churchill Place is designed to be one of the most energy efficient office buildings at Canary Wharf and the Raychem HWAT system was chosen for its reliability, space saving benefits and to ensure the provision of instant hot water, maintained at a temperature of 55°C, at all point up to the outlets. The hot water services are based in a hybrid system with recirculated pipework in the risers and single pipe on each floor to the outlets. HWAT-Eco controllers for Legionella prevention functionality are also included.
Other HWAT solution comprises: HWAT-R self-regulating heating cables and HWAT-Eco controllers for the HWS services on each floor. The complete installation also employs RayClic interconnection components and other accessories from the same manufacturer for a complete system solution.
In addition to the DHWS, an extensive pipe frost protection system has been installed on exposed pipework on the roof as well as a heating solution for the grease drains from the kitchens .
A variety of M&E Contractors were involved in the project including; Skanska for the FSC to the grease lines. Sherlock Interiors for the HWAT and MJ Lonsdale for the pipe frost protection system. Hilson Moran (London) provided the design engineering.
