Reynaers good for vibrations in Wedgwood Court development

Reynaers Limited: Situated on Holloway Road, one of the busiest and most congested roads in North London, is Wedgwood Court; home, at some point, to many a student of London Metropolitan University.
The large student accommodation block, constructed by Woolf Ltd with Stride Treglown architects, comprises of a range of studio, to six bedroom cluster flats, each with en-suite, with an onsite laundry and common room.
Due to the building being constructed adjacent to the railway and tube station, and the frontages facing the noisy Holloway Road, potential vibration and noise emissions had to be taken into account, with particular reference to glazing.
Several Reynaers Aluminium glazing systems were recommended for use throughout the build, including window, door and curtain walling systems.
Reynaers Vision 50 doors were identified as the best solution at ground level, a heavy duty system designed to withstand the high traffic requirements associated with campus installations. The range combines durability and flexibility with style to complement the overall modern design and function of the building.
For glazed walls, Reynaers CW50 Curtain Walling was installed, providing a solution that allows maximum light entrance inside the building – which being on the ground floor would otherwise be extremely dark – whilst providing a high level of insulation. Offering creative freedom while maintaining functionality, the system was ideal for this modern build.
When installing windows within a residential unit, it is important that the system utilised offers good insulation as well as ventilation. The Wedgwood Court rental contract with tenants is inclusive of utility bills, so providing good insulation, and therefore less need for heating, was perhaps magnified as a requirement. In this instance Reynaers Eco 50 Windows were installed for their optimum energy efficiency whilst remaining a cost effective solution.
