Staron Announces Judging Panel for StaroNature Design Competition

Award-winning surface brand, Staron, is delighted to announce the judging panel for its innovative StaroNature Design Contest. Open to architects, designers and university students in the creative field, entrants to the competition are asked to submit designs inspired by the magic of nature using the revolutionary, solid surface material.

Known throughout the hospitality industry, architect Jean-Philippe Nuel is an international name in luxury interior architecture.  “The designer has more than ever the duty to rethink the design process in the light of current environmental ambitions,” says Jean-Philippe. “Through the competition, Staron challenges designers and reaffirms its ecological commitment. Our studio is pleased to support Staron in this forward-looking approach.”

Martina Elena Landsberger

With a degree in Architecture and a PHD in Urban Composition, Martina is an Assistant Professor in Architectural and Urban Composition at ABC Department. “The StaroNature contest is particularly interesting, not only for those involved in design, but also for young people who are looking ahead to their future and the future of our planet.”

Michele Giovanni Caja

Associate Professor in Architectural and Urban Composition at ABC department, Michele Caja says, “The relationship between project and natural environment has always been one of the central topics of architectural research. Its application to the environment in which we live today becomes an increasingly important issue.”

Simon Scott

Responsible for the provision of commercial Interior Design services within the practice of Koncept ID for over 30 years, Simon has a wealth of technical construction experience. “We at Koncept ID have used Staron for many years, it has always been our go to company for solid surface solutions. To be asked by Staron to be a member of the judging panel is a great honour. We look forward to seeing what our creative industry can produce as a response to the StaroNature design brief.”

Staron’s commitment to working with professionals and aspiring creatives encourages innovation and product development that pushes the boundaries of design. The competition is open to architects, designers and university students within the creative field and can be entered individually or as a team.

The competition has three categories available to enter:

  • A new Staron design inspired by nature
  • A new Staron design which shows balance between nature and Staron
  • A new eco-friendly product

Entrants should submit a readable file format; jpg, png, pdf, psd or ai containing a visual of their design with a clear explanation of their Staron product, inspiration and functionality along with an application from to:
