Timber windows and doors manufactured in the UK by specialists Mumford & Wood are now CE Mark compliant in accordance with mandatory European law adopted by all member states, including the UK. The company has undertaken a rigorous process to ensure products and the supply chain are covered by the new regulations. As with many construction products that additionally require a Declaration of Performance (DoP), specifiers can now easily determine if a product that is permanently incorporated into a building or installation complies with the Construction Products Regulation (CPR).
Mumford & Wood manufacture windows and doors that comply with the British Woodworking Federation’s (BWF) third party Timber Windows Accreditation Scheme (TWAS). They are classified ‘A+’ under the BRE Global 2008 Green Guide to Specification and so achieve essential materials’ credits for the building. A recent Expected Service Life study commissioned by the Wood Window Alliance (WWA), of which the company is a founder member, is affiliated to the BWF and identifies timber frames made by Mumford & Wood to WWA standards have an expected service life of between 56 – 65 years, a duration double that of uPVC.
As a member of the WWA, Mumford & Wood is required to mark all products with the recognised WWA label which also carries the TWA Scheme, British Standards Institute (BSI) Kitemark and ‘Made in Britain’ badges identifying the top quality pedigree of this premier brand. This label now incorporates the company’s CE Mark and DoP unique references.
