Spectral Launched Full Range Of Ultra-Efficient LED Luminaires At L+B

Share

At Light+Building this year, Spectral, part of the RIDI Group, showcased a range of ultra-efficient luminaires, including the brand new Stora-LK-Fabrik, and updated LED versions of its popular IRIS, JEP and Plafou fittings. Combining industry leading efficiency with architectural craftsmanship and design, the show saw Spectral confirm its position as one of the industry’s frontrunners of cutting edge aesthetics and performance in luminaire design.

“One of the defining characteristics of our designs is transparency,” says UK Head of Design, Jon Estell. “This influence runs throughout the new Stora-LK-Fabrik with its open cylindrical form and uniquely textured, translucent fabric sides. One of our clients’ favourite designs, IRIS, is known for its open form and exposed components. As the light shines through these fittings they create a jewel-like effect, similar to light diffraction through ice.”

The cleverly designed Stora-LK-Fabrik, IRIS and the curved pendant JEP all bend the rules of luminaire design and much of this design freedom is down to new, in-house LED production facilities. These new facilities also allow Spectral to put out industry leading efficiency ratios without compromising artistic styling.

RIDI2Spectral now offers IRIS at 105 lumens per watt (now 42W down from 55W) and a re-launched JEP luminaire, which produces 5000 lumens from a 40W input. Another update to the Spectral stable is the new LED version of Plafou, which now realises 106 lumens per watt from 40W, down from 70W.

Other new fittings previewed at L+B include a tunable white pendant, AOCA, the striking BOW, which uses Spectral’s profile tracking to unify separate channels of light into a single, striking, suspended luminaire, and the low-profile, high output recessed spot, DOOLIP.

As with the entire Spectral range, all fittings are customisable for individual projects as required. By investing in new LED production lines, Spectral has developed a second wave of LED technology to improve efficiency but to also allow them greater design creativity. With greater freedom, Spectral continues to push the boundaries of luminaire design, fully embracing the possibilities that LED offers.
